Jennifer John
Artistic Director, Sense of Sound
Jennifer was born in East London to Trinidadian parents. At the age of 5 she won a place at a Music Academy and stayed there until she was 18 focusing on classical music. She was the only black child at the academy at the time.
After finishing at the academy she moved to Liverpool to study music at one of only 3 music courses offered around the country. She chose Liverpool because of its’ vibrant atmosphere. Jennifer set up the Sense of Sound Company to make singing accessible to all. Her company now has offices in Liverpool and West London.
She has coached, amongst others, Jenny Andrews and Andy Abraham (X Factor).
