PROFILE
Rowley Moore
Superintendent, Merseyside Police
Born in Dagenham Essex, Rowley was the only black officer at the Essex police station where he worked. This became Rowley’s unique selling point and he turned it to his advantage and used it in a proactive way to present the force in a positive light.
Rowley studied for internal police exams and took numerous external exams, as education was vital to him. He also undertook a Masters in Social Studies part time. Rowley moved to Liverpool after meeting a scouser! The challenge of moving wasn’t a hindrance to him and he went on to become the Chief Superintendent of Merseyside Police Force.
He is continuing to study and has just started a 2 years diploma.
